Stadslab | A project in Zuidwijk, Rotterdam

Last year we began working in Stadslab. Our first assignment was to create a souvenir for the people of Zuidwijk Rotterdam, because they eventually have to leave their houses and move to another location. Personally i don't really get it. The people in Zuidwijk didn't ask for anything like this although it's all about them. The result is some ideas and artworks from students who never lived in Zuidwijk, and really don't have a clue what's going on there. But ok, I've made the souvenir anyway. :)







This souvenir has no content in itself, just form. The idea is that people who receive it can create their own souvenir, something that makes them remember Zuidwijk. It's a box with on the outside lines to write whatever you want on it. Memories about Zuidwijk, or things they liked about the neigbourhood. Inside is a pen to write with. The box itself is ment to keep pictures in. The result is an individual souvenir that holds their personal memories of Zuidwijk.
